ive been reading a lot here and on the main page on vid overclocking and just one question has arisen: should the max memory or core be found first? on several pages ive read that a higher core can limit the ram and the ram gets a higher %performance/mhz gain than core.

any input, maybe we can make this a poll...

It is my understanding that on an ATI, at least for a 9800Pro, that it will benefit more from higher core speeds than higher ram speeds. Hence, you raise the core first.

Negative.

RAM is more important. I have a far faster core, but i get pwned by pros at much lower core speeds.

That's interesting, my scores always go higher per core increase than memory increase.

Well my core won't go that high, but my mem can. Here's my 3d03 if that helps at all. 426/403 were my clocks.

So for my 9600xt find the max mem, then find max core, then check mem again?
