I am new and have a few questions. I have an IBM system with a 133 fsb, 320 MB pc133 ram, VIA chipset, and a P3 866 mhz processor. I was wondering how I would go about overclocking this system being that it has an IBM bios that does not help in matters of overclocking. Should I use a software based overclocking utility? Also, as far as temp goes, what is a good program I can use to moniter my temps? Also, is 1 ghz too much to expect?

I think 1 ghz is possible out of 866. 1ghz would require a FSB of about 155 +/-. This means your ram must be capable of that speed Cas2/Cas3. I think you might have to scrap that motherboard, and get a new one. But, first try Shadow's FTP server, look for CPUBOOST in applications. I use that on my BF6.
GOOD LUCK

Theres also softfsb it will let you change your Front side bus [FSB] but first your clock generator mudt be supported. Shadow also has this if not www.tweakfiles.com has it. I would not exspect much from overclocking on your PC since you cant change your Core Votage CV to your CPU you will not get to far with the programs that help you change FSB and there settings leave allot to be desired, As Carmine Paterno said your only option may be a new motherboard and it may not be worth it for the small gain you will see.
goodluck
