its running at 612 right now, but if i push it anyfurther, it boots and runs for about 15 mins then freezes, is this a sign of future possibilities?

I'm not really sure what your asking here, if you think maybe in the future you may get more out of it you may if your temps are down and you raise your CV a little bit. but without more info its hard to say.

That's really not one of Intel's "great overclock" chips, so I wouldn't expect too much from it.

Hey dude, don't listen to these guys who say the Katmai isn't a good Overclocker. She just takes some patience and research. Check out my post to KevDaMan's topic on "P3 500 Help". Let me know if that helps.
