I have an OLLLLDDDD 486sx-33 and i was going to overclock it for fun. i was wondering if this sounds correct beacuse my jumper settings dont list what they are just what to set them as for different processors.
this is what the jumper settings are
Pro. Spd. (Mhz)
20 25 33 40
J23 I O O O
J25 O I I O
J26 O I O I
I think this is what the jumpers do

J23 i believe is a 0.6x multplyer (I=0.6)
J25 I believe is a 1x multplyer (I=1)
so J23/J25
I/O=0.6x
O/I=1x
I/I=1.6x
and J26 is FSB
I=25mhz
O=33mhz
I may be wrong but if someone could cheak my math i think that works out

The 486SX doesn't use any multiplier. The CPU runs at the bus speed, so you can only try to get a 40Mhz bus speed. If you have these selections on your mobo, she will probably take a 486DX2-66 cpu also. You can find one of these for $5 or less(!) at a PC-fair or something. It'll get you twice the speed, a math-processor, more cache and will make your system run Win95 in a 'reasonably' (read: nice for email and stuff) manner, lol! Good luck!

Do you know the manufacturer and model ? (look for big #'s and or letters, probably printed in white)
If not try to find as much info as you can (# of ISA slots, # of PCI slots (if any) etc..), and I might be able to help you out.
Or take a look here (http://sysopt.earthweb.com/overfaq.html#2.1)

i am not sure of the manufacturer but it is from a packard bell "Multi Media"(not sure if thats a model or not) LPX or slimline with 3 ISA slots on a riser, 210mb hd. i suppose it can probibly take a DX/2 66 but it only lists up to 40(possibly max when new) and it has 2 ram slots 1 IDE and 1 floppy
