I have a M747 pcchips motherboard using a celeron II 733 with a generic slotket, to over clock it am using softfsb program ( with the bios can change the FSB only 66 or 100 Mhz ), knowing that the PLL of the M747 have two 75 fsb setting
- one 75 Mhz with 37.5 Mhz PCI Bus
work perfectly.

- the other 75 mhz with 32 Mhz PCI bus
freeze all the time instantly after changing the setting.

all that knowing the following :

-the system work very stable at all the the following CPU /FSB / PCI speeds 660/60/30, 735/66.8/33.4,753/68.5/34.2,825/75/37.5, anything above that will freeze the computer.

- both an abit III slotket to be able to play with the voltage but wont work, looks incompatible with M747. but I did success to change the voltage up to 2V. with higher voltage, the computer boot at 100 Mhz FSB ( that is 1100 MHZ CPU ) but works fine only under DOS rarely worked with windows.

- best is when I disable the L1/L2 the system works just fine at CPU/FSB 1100/100 Mhz ( well but slow verrrrrry slow ) and i could make it working under windows from 600 to 1100 Mhz with no problem, but if stared at normal speed 735 Mhz with the L1/L2 disabled again the system will freeze with the speeds CPU/FSB 825/32 Mhz and higher.....???????......

the 75mhz/32mhz option is probabally just a mistake or mis print, on ym comp softfsb reports a 133mhz/0mhz option which just crashes. I could be 83mhz which may be too much for some part fo your system to handle or it could just be screwing the computer up in some daft way. Unfortunately the multiplyer of your cpu means that a 100mhz fsb is rare to be reached but a 75mhz fsb is't bad for 825mhz

tx

but i maybe I forget to tell that i had a celeron 333A who worked with the same system for more that one year at 450Mhz perfectly at 500Mhz was usually crashing after few hours.

don't think there is no mis print ( did use CPUcool and do the same ) and the DATA-SHEET of the ICS 9848-17
( http://www.icst.com/pdf/9148-17.pdf ) , the PLL for the M747, confirm that, the speed FSB/PCI 83.3/32 work well when L1/L2 are disabled.

but could be a conflict happing somehow with the new bios, to make the new celeron II working i had to install the latest bios for the M747 witch support PIII.
