I recently reinstalled XP after putting in my new 3.0C and overclocked it and one of the CPUs is disabled. Meaning I no longer have hyperthreading. In task manager it only shows one cpu and CPU-Z only shows I have one CPU, too. Instead of CPU#0 and CPU#1. Is there anyway I can re-enable HT in windows? Thanks.

Have you enabled HT in the BIOS?

he probably needs to enable it in the bios like u said, but he will also have to reinstall xp with HT enabled for it to work

I think when trying to find your OC you must've accidentally disabled HT in your BIOS setup somewhere. I dont think you need to reinstall XP though. Expand the 'computer' branch in the device-manager and try changing it to 'ACPI multiprocessor PC' or 'Standard multiprocessor PC', the system will have to reboot and make a lot of changes but it might work! If this doesn't work I'm afraid you may need to reinstall so make sure to backup anything important before giving it a try...

I realized what was the problem. In MSCONFIG, instead of normal startup i did selective startup and the driver for HT ended up being left out in selective startup. but once i changed it back to normal startup i have HT again.

I was thinking that he messed up while OCing, and set his BIOS to default.
But since the problem is solved, I won't say my idea.. ;-)
