on windows update, there is a driver update titled "Advanced Micro Devices software update released August 29, 2001" what does it do?

i think i was reading somethnig its to add support for the Athlon XP's , i think no 100% sure there

maybe it's a patch for the idle process. on linux boxes you used to need to have to add a command to keep the cpu cooler when its idling.

That update is for the AMD K7 processor.I dont know what it does though.

I clicked on the suppported harware link and thats all it says.
