I did a quick search but nothing seemed to answere my question about all new parts, but seemed more to address down the road.

I just ran a simple loop to test out some of the WC I am building. After about 6 hours the Clearflex tube went milky white. I have since ran it with a couple fresh batches of water to try and "flush" the system but it still stains the tube. I am just using distilled water atm as this was just a test loop while I wait on some more parts. Am I missing something that is causing this? I don't want to start with a dirty system. Maybe once I add the Zerex this won't happen?

p.s. being my first WC system I am having a blast building this sucker but its leaving a mess of parts and tools all over my home ;)

you sure it is not just a bunch of tinny bubbles

Yup a film forms on top when the system is off. As well the tubes are dry atm and there is a very distinct line of white where they slid over the barbs.

(This is based on the assumption that all parts are new as in never used as stated)

It's definitely some type of contamination in the water. Perhaps residual lubricant from pump manufacturing. Try putting some of the loop water in a glass container and see if there is an oily film on top. That would indicate this type of contamination. It probably won't hurt anything and once you have the zerex in the system, you probably won't even notice it.

Do look however, for any powdery substance floating in the water. This could be an indication of the pump grinding itself to bits.

Aye all parts are brand spanking new. I was getting a white colored film forming at the surface of the water in the res after i would turn the pump off and let the current settle. I figure this is what was staining the tubes just wasn't sure what it would be? If its just some lube then it can't hurt to have. I just wanted to confirm this before assembling the rest of the system.

sup man? its ok its just gunk from the heatercore, same thing happend to me. Hit up homedepot or kmart and grab some CLR and run it in your loop n drain it . Worked for me

Thanx a bunch I'm feeling better about it know. First time doing it so prolly overthinking the hole thing. Off to get me some CLR first thing tomorrow :)

many anti corrosive additives are known to leave a "film" on tubes. i use Zerex super racing coolant (10%) and have the same build up on my tubes after 4 months or so. tho i dont have any build up on my bay-res... i wonder if tygon tube resists the build up?...

it is in the heater core it is some kind of anti-corosive powder i ran into the same problem

it came from the core and it foamed like crazy scared me at first

---- if it is anti-corosive then it just helps you
---- if it is a glaze in the core for the aluminum, it helps you
so i wouldnt worry
it seemed to clear up in about 3 days of running the system
(or it settled)
either way it is not bad
