i am able to upgrade my Celeron 500MHz to a 100Mhz FSB but i need to know if its safe !! I found the jumpers already and my system has been preety stable so far. Ive been running at 66Mhz for 2 years now and ill im gonna do is switch the jumper to 100Mhz.. is it safe ? is there any other jumpers for voltage i need to set ? if so.. how would i do that ?? PLEASE HELP !!! im getting a GeForce2 MX soon and i want some more juice to power it.

That chip will almost 100% not make 100mhz FSB. Its a celeron1 and their limit is under 600 MOST OF THE TIME. By all means give it a shot but I wouldnt expect it.
Don't even bother there is no way in hell it will make it. A 75mhz fsb is a good aim ad this will give you 560mhz or so. But don't bother trying for the 100mhz fsb as that is just silly.

there is only one thing i need to know, there are only BIOS settings for 66, 100, and 133, but ive read about a way to change it to 75 FSB through third party software.. ive seen the link but now i cannot find it, if you can help me with this plz post..

if you have a celly 1, then i would upgrade anyways, thats ancient technology

Try SoftFSB over at www.octools.com to get that FSB

I would just give it a shot to see how high you could get yourself, before it hits it's "wall" ;D
You may be lucky enough to get that 100FSB, just try to keep your rig cool
the bios doesn't sho options for inbetween fsb settings but allows you to set the higher ones anyway?
that is odd. Softfsb may be able to access such settings which can be downloaded of shadows ftp site. But I assure you a 100mhz fsb wouldn't work on that chip, probabally not even with a water cooled peltier, maybe with ln2 though :)
I had one of these chips, and (see my specs below) currently run celerons myself, and you won't make it and risk getting the core too hot trying. Don't bother -- a Pinto may make 120MPH downhill, but don't expect it to stop.

I dont know if anyone mentioned this since my text appears all over the screen but here goes my 2cents. Dont try it upgrade to a new cpu, for your 500 you will probably fail even at 83, core voltage 2,3V unless ur lucky, 75 is a good fsb with 2,2 core voltage

have a go, if it works you are increadably lucky, if it don't go out a buy a celeron 633 or 667, and a good heatsink, FOP38, thermo engine, thermalright SR6 ect
my 500 wouldn't run stable over 600 and to run it stable there the voltage had to be 2.3v...those chips just run hot...if you try it at 100 Mhz make sure you know where your reset CMOS jumper is :)

Pinky, I absolutely disagree.....
You couldn't get a Pinto to go 120 MPH if you pushed it off a cliff... ??? ???

haha a pinto and a celeron NOW! thats the comparison of the month
One of my BP6's has dual C500's. Both cpu's are at 2.1 volts. I have been running them on a 80mhz bus (600mhz) for over 1.5 years now rock solid. Cooling is done by a pair of Alpha Pal 6035's. I think this is about all you can expect out of that old core if you are lucky.
Some other Celerons 1's I have for comparison.
533 @ 600 75fsb 2.2v
Another BP6 Dual 366's @ 572 104fsb(I think memory is failing me on the exact fsb) 2.05 and 2.1 volts

At least if you pushed it off a cliff it would stop. Eventually.
Sorry to get off subject, but this reminds me of a story. When I was stationed in North Carolina, I used to go to the local dragstrip and race my overclocked '68 GTO. Well, I was on the line doing my burn-out, when a Pinto pulled up. Man it was nasty, rusting, 6 different colors. Well this is 1/8 mile drags. And it's the type of drags that depends on your time you chose while doing your time trials. What it means is, if you run 5 seconds, and I run 7 seconds, I get a two second head start, but if I go faster than the time on my windshield, I'm disqualified.
Any ways, I'm waiting for him to stage, and get the lights, and I'm relaxed, I don't want to red light, I'm in no hurry, I'm gonna waste this hunk of crap. Then all of a sudden, MY lights go green first.....WTF? GO! This thing blows by me at 3/4 track like I'm standing still! He won because I cut a light of 1.1 seconds which is horrible. The crowd is laughing at me....I get behind this thing, and I can hardly see the rear differential because the tires overlap it. Guy has shoe-horned a Keith Black 500 CID big block in that thing, was running Nitrous, on twin 750 double pumpers. I honestly believe that if that thing got enough traction it would just flip over from the engine torque. I don't think his front wheels touched the ground the whole run.......
