I heard something about lower end Quad motherboards.

What would those be? I have a Dual P2-P3 board. I would LOVE to have a Quad board that supported P3 processors, even if I could shove 4 P2s in there that would be awesome.

Even to have some HUGE oversized motherboard....Think of 4 P3-S 1.4ghz processors. That would be a TRUE beastly computer!

P3 and P2 Xeons can do quad, mostly in old OEM boards. Your best bet is Ebay, for sale forums on 2cpu.com, or perhaps businesses. Be prepared for massive shipping costs though.

P3-S can only do 2 way BTW.

The only Intels that can run Quad are the XEON Class CPUS P2/PIII/P4 and the old Pentiums.

The P4 Xeons have to be MP models to run in quads, 900.00 and up per processor.

Also the pentium pros do quad.

PPros can also do 6 way in a ALR 6x6 system, but they are hard to get all the stuff for.

In my opinion, going less than P2 400mhz is not worth it for Dual, or Quad.
