I was thinking about one of those Maxtor external hard drives with the one tough back up. What are your thoughts on how to back up data? How do you back up your data?
The reason I ask is because I have nought tons of music off of itunrs and do not want to lose all of my data because my raid array crashes..

Simple, don't create a RAID array that can crash. I keep stuff on a second HD. And sometimes I'll put stuff on CD. :D

For any media go with DVD+/-R for backup. 4.37GB on a single disc, can't beat that in terms of price/value.

For backing up entire systems, I use a cheap external HDD USB2.0 enclosure and Ghost. The WD retail external HD packages may be convenient, but they are also very expensive.

Backup to DVDs or Ghost as image. Simple. I do disk to disk backup for the boot drive.

Multiple hard drives (one for OS and non-swappable programs, second for essential files).
Then removable drive for Norton ghost images.

I put stuff on a second partition. Im more worried about me having to just reinstall windows and not full hd failure.

Oh man, iTunes stuff you can get back. What about all the stuff I've dowloaded for free?

I'm just kidding, no I'm not.

I live dangerously. I don't back up. A HD failure can be nice sometimes; It gives me the chance to start over.
