does anyone do a water block to cool down my 2 160gb sata seagates. used to have 2 80gb drives same series these ran nice and cool, but these new ones are friggin hot. i live in the uk so a well known brand would be useful.

I have seen very little in the way of commercial hard drive waterblocks, perhaps owing to the size that they tend to take up. Your best bet other than the one that sbud posted would be to perhaps build your own, or just employ some effective air cooling.

I don't know if you can get them in the UK, but I use the Koolance HD cooler for both of my SATA 120's and it works great.

Like shadowcat said, hard drive waterblocks aren't the easiest thing to find and implement. If you could just rig a low speed fan over or around the drives, that's all the cooling you should really need. Do the drives have any airflow over them currently?

Ehh Im not too into WBs for HDs... I think its an over kill. How about this cheap solution that I have on my Raptor

I have the koolance and the 2nd hd kit and it works well. All that is included is the normal hd block (with the water connections) and then a second kit that includes the thermal paste compound and a thin metal plate. The two hd's are then placed back to back (one is upside down, the other right side up), it seems to work very well.

all thats well and good if you have room..POSH I have 6 HDD in my system and i had to make a rack for 2 of them...got to be anotehr way..and as for the first HDD water cooler..I don't see how cooling the sides is going to do much fr the motor and electronics on the bottom of the drive. Koolance's hdd coolers look to be supirior in performance..the thermal compound seems a nifty Idea!
