I was just wondering how far I could overclock the FSB on a PIII600. The FSB and RAM both run at 100mhz. My BIOS sucks so I have to use CPUFSB and the only options it has are 103 and 124mhz. Would 124 be to much?
You will just have to try it.
If you cant set your pci divider to 1/4 you probably will have problems.

I'm running a PIII 600 (cA2 stepping) @ 135 FSB, and it also runs @ 138 FSB but no 3D.(It's a heat problem I guess, didn't try higher......yet).

I got this from the CPU database, for a P3-600E
Average overclocked speed - 846 Mhz = 141 MHz FSB.
This will take some better than stock cooling though. If nothing else, then for the sake of your CPU.
Good luck!
This depends heavily on which P/// 600 it is. There are FOUR different variations of the P/// 600
1) 600 Katmai core 100FSB
2) 600 Katmai core, 133FSB
3) 600 Coppermine core, 100FSB
4) 600 Coppermine core, 133FSB
The best one of the four is the 600E variant (Coppermine, 100FSB). The Katmai core won't overclock too much further than default on the 600's most of the time, and the 600EB (Coppermine, 133FSB) has too low a multiplier/too high an FSB to overclock much faster either. If you could get the "EB" chip to 150 FSB, you'd only have 675 MHz, as the multiplier for this chip is 4.5x.
The multi on the 600E is 6x. And at 159 FSB, yields 954MHz.
