Just bought a new pc its a p3 933 and for some reason I cant over clock it. In bios i got to chip set features and i can change the clock speed and not the fbs i think its called.. the 133 mhz thing. It wont let me change it at all. If i do change the clock speed it dont change the cpu speed at all. Is there a setting i have to change to let me overclock?
You have to change the fsb.
If you cant do it in the bios maybe withe a jumper or dip switch on the motherboard.
Most pre built systems wont let you change the fsb thou.
You might be able to use software to change the fsb like soft fsb.
You can find it a www.tweakfiles.com

also dont go into this half cocked, know your processor, know what other people have done and read the dos and donts, just be smart about it, dont go immeditaly for the highest setting

Also, and probably most importantly, MONITOR YOUR TEMPS. One of the biggest killers of overclocked machines is heat. Use a program like MBM5 (motherboard monitor 5) to monitor temps, which can also be found at Tweakfiles.com (http://www.tweakfiles.com/diagnostic/). If your temps get too high, step up your cooling. You will probably have to get better than stock cooling if you plan on overclocking more than 10% or so. Good luck, make sure you've read the newbie guides, and repost if you need more help. :)

Oh yea, your motherboard manual should tell you where the fsb settings are (in BIOS or dipswitches). Like Placid said though, if its a prebuilt system you might not be able to do it.
