View Full Version : No more Z-680's?
I went speaker shopping the other day and the guy at my local computer store said that the Z-680's were no longer in production and that they would not be able to get any more after the 4 they had left in stock. Is this true or was he just trying to make a sale?

this is NOT true,
anyway, IF it would be true, that would mean, Logitech will put a new, better model in the stores
you have no reason to hurry, and besides that, there hasnt been any information, that Logitech is making a new model. why? because there is none! the guy at the store is a jerk

they're stopping the z-560s and replacing them with the z-5300s
the z680s aren't going anywhere afaik
They stopped production of the z560s about 6 months ago. Eventually the z680s will also be discontinued. I was surprised when I heard of the 560s being discontinued.
There's never a good time to stop production of a good line and 'take a chance' on a new one, but marketing theory dictates that people will buy newer items with better 'specs' or flashy lights. Expect the next set of Logitechs to glow in the dark and perform a light show in-sync with the music :D
It can be true. The price of Z680 is down to only $279 at newegg. Maybe they are making room for the new product.

A downgrade, it seems. A quick glance at the charts lists 280Watt, as opposed to the 400 for the Z560's. Altough you do get one extra speaker, admittedly.
I guess they want the Z680 to be the only real high end offering now, at 500W almost twice as powerful.

I want them to replace the z-680's. I dont care about improving the specs or features or anything other than making them either 6.1 or 7.1 speaker sets. That is the reason I am not going to buy a pair of z-680's now. I really want 6.1 sound :D .
