does there exist an aplication that will shut down a system if it reaches a certain temperture?
i ask this because i just pulled off my delta fan. i couldnt stand it anymore. i am now using a 25 cfm cpu fan. plus (7) 80 and 92 mm. case fans. nonetheless it is running much hotter than with the delta. right now as im typing this (this is all the machine is doing right now) it is at 36 system and 33.50 cpu. looping quake3 it goes to 42 system and 50 cpu! ouch hot!

anyways, if it does not lock up at those temps it should be ok. if it reaches, say, 54 cpu i'd like it to shut itself down if possible. i consider anything above 54 asking for my cpu to only last a matter of hours. am i right about these temps being way to high?

i dont want water cooling. so i might end up with two choices. delta, or less mhz.

thank you,
sendatooli.

Yes there is a program. It's called ShutDown Now!. And the cool thing is that it works hand in hand with Motherboard Monitor. Good program, I like use it and like it.

While we are on this subject does anyone know of a shutdown program that " will work " with the Iwill KA266. MBM will not . I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks Billy

thanks for the replies guys!

i was just wondering, my chipset temp is way higher than the cpu temp with the smaller fan on the cpu. it is usually the other way around. what can cause this? i have a large hs with a fan on the bx. it was at 28 idle with the delta. now it is at 37 idle with the ys tech. darnit! what can cause this to happen?

Billvill,

Unfortunetly, your probably going to be waiting for the next version of MBM and ShutDown Now to come out because you board was made after the programs were created.

Sorry.

I feel the same way, but wasn't sure and figured by now someone would've spoken up if they knew any different.

I havn't ignored the 2 posts I've seen you asking similiar questions.

What you could do is ask Skip. He had a part in MBM's last update.
