I took the plunge into overclocking my first system earlier this week. My goal is to push the prossesor up to 400 MHz FSB so that everything moves along nicely. So I started upping the bus speed in 4-5 MHz increments and tested for stablilty using Prime95. I ran into problems once I got up to 190 MHz (380 DDR). I tried upping the vcore and that didnt stablize things out, even when I pushed it up to 1.9 volts. At that point, I figured I was doing something wrong so I stopped. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreacted. Thanx

what are your memory settings what is the voltage you are running through your RAM. maybe your RAM is limiting you if its running on too tight timings, also make sure you're running RAM and FSB in sync, always!

hes got 400mhz ram in his sig, so memory timings shouldnt be a problem running 1:1

up vmem to 2.7~2.8v or so
What is the 5v on your PSU?
How hot is your CPU when priming?

I looked up my timings and they are 2.5 3 3 8. I set the clock to DRAM ratio 1:1 so that my RAM would run under its specified specs. The vDimm is about 2.6 volts.

I ran Prime95 to find out what my temps are and I recorded 34 C after an hour. I dont think that is on target however. I dont really know how to make mptherboard monitor work propery. In running the core right now at 1.6 volts which maybe explains the temp.
I dont understand the 1st half of your question arcaine, "what is the 5v on you power supply?"
