First off, ditch 'Freeram XP Pro'. I don't even know what it is, but you don't need it. XP doesn't have the same memory leak issues that Win95/98/ME does.

Get rid of that and see if it's better. If your system is going to virtual memory (thrashing the disk a lot), then you may actually be running out of RAM -- but with 512MB you should be alright.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll try disabling then deleting if/when I notice an improvement.

Now that you mention it, HD access seems high during normal play in games(no loading new terrain or levels), will look out for a connection between this and the pauses.

yeah i agree with Matthias, keep an eye on the page file usage. (virtual memory) If it gets excessive then you are running out of avaliable memory.

I disabled freeram xp pro and the pauses are all but gone, they still occur but much less frequently and they don't last as long as before. Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated!
