I just upgraged to windows XP.

And i had one of the newer versions of Seti Client and stuff.
Well i decided to go back, and use version 3.2.0. Well it all is going good now. But after a while of crunching ( like....an hour or so i guess ) it starts Idleing. Seti spy's icon goes yellow.

So i would shut seti down, and restart it again, and it would start working again.

i'v never had this problem before. anyone have adea what might be causing it?

Because, i leave my computer on to crunch when i'm gone, but it won't do any good, if it idles after about an hour of crunching.

ok guys, just responding to my last post there.

i figured it out, in seti spy, in Setup, then to client tab, My Client Idle timeout was set at 5 min. Can you turn this off?
I never had a problem with it before.

i just set it to 9999 min.

never had a problem with this before.....oh well.

anyone know if this can be turned off???

I'm not sure if you can disable the client idle timeout. :(

Do you have setispy set to stop the client when the cpu reaches a certain temp? You can get to the setting by clicking client and then the configure button. At the bottom there may be a checkmark to stop the client when cpu reaches 'x' temp. I'm using setispy ver 3.3.3 so I'm not sure this option is avail on the older versions of spy. Maybe something to check on... :)

Yeah, i have the optoin for seti to shut down if my cpu gets to hot, turned off.

i don't have it on. Basicly, if my cpu hits over 65C, then the fan must have died, or something else happened, so having seti shut off won't do any good. now, i do usually have that turned on durring the summer, when its really hot.

But this weekend, we ( my family ) are moving to a new house. and my room is in a room in the basement, where it stays a nice cool temp all year round. so i won't have to worry about that.

but i figured it out. i just set the timer up to 9999 min.

i do reboot my computer when i go to bed, because of the noise. so 9999 min. won't ever be hit, well not while i'm still in school. once i graduate ( this year ) my computer will be on alot more.
