I'm going to get eithier Corsair or Mushkin ram for my system sometime this week, and the site i usually check (newegg.com) has had their memory prices shoot up quite a bit. What sites would u recommend i buy my memory off of?

I want either one of these dual packs:

1 Gig Mushkin Level 1 Black
1 Gig Corsair XMS (the 2-3-3-6 timings not the 3-3-3-8)

Also, nothing more expensive than 250 dollars w/ shipping

Thanks for any help :)

I usually get my ram from newegg. A couple of times in the past I was forced to look elsewhere and ended up purchasing it from googlegear.com. I remember their prices, service, and shipping being pretty good. I haven't been on their site in about a year, until tonight. I just found out that, although the web site still looks the same, their name has been changed to zipzoomfly... http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Home.jsp I don't know if their service, or anytrhing else, is still the same. But you may want to check 'em out...

You can always get something outta newegg's referb section.

Besides Mushkin has such good support that if your ram is defective they will be more than willing to help you, since Newegg's referbs still carry the manufacturer's warrenty.

This is why I buy nothing but the best. You definatly pay for good service these days.

I just checked around, looks like ram prices are up everywhere. About two or three months ago Newegg was selling 512 mb of Corsair XMS pc3200LLPro 2-3-2-6 for $125.00. I know because I watched the price drop and snatched two of them. Now they want $159.00 for 2-3-3-6...That flat out S*&k$!!.. I didn't find anything in Newegg's refurbished section either.

Only $159? Here in Finland one of those sticks cost 196 euro's, which is roughly $240. :/

Ouch that hurts!!...Sorry to hear that... How difficult would it be for you to purchase it on a web site over here?

Mushkin.com
I called them and changed my order early on and got a very friendly, helpful and curteous person who spent about 15 minutes on the phone answering my questions and actually told me to go with the cheaper 3500 modules(I had originally ordered the 4000 modules) because I wasn't going to be oc'ing to at least 250MHz all the time.

Not too difficult but they slap a tax on it when it enters the country and then it ends up costing even more... Found that out when I ordered my GBA SP from Hong Kong. :/
