Hi, just waanna know if its possible to overclock a P3 600 SLOT 1, with Asus Mobo. If yes may i know how can i do that?

certainly is possible. Make sure have plenty of cooling though meaning a better HSF than the retail thing intel gives you. Just bump up the FSB to overclock it. At some point you will need to raise the voltage to, just be careful though and not go too far with it as you could ruin your cpu. Instructions on how to do both can be found in your MB manual.

I know several people who easily got their P3-600 to 800MHz. As William said, you need good cooling. However, you ALSO need some thermal grease. I recommend Arctic Silver II, but others work ok as well, and are much cheaper. You only need to apply a paper thin layer between the cpu and the heatsink.

In your BIOS, I bet there is a way to increase your FSB (Front Side Bus). Perhaps it is set to auto - try to change this to manual. Is it an Asus P3B motherboard?

Try some different settings, and see how high it will go. If it locks up, or won't even boot windows, just lower the FSB a bit, until it works again.

no u dont need to

only amd needs to be multiplier unlocked which is not possible(yet) in intel cpus
