I hacked up the thread title... ignore it lol. Should read "oh no, more IE/Outlook problems".

:EDIT::Problem with Outlook Express is fixed::EDIT:
:EDIT::Problem with Outlook is not::EDIT:

HERE IS MY CURRENT PROBLEM:

(scroll down to see my initial problem if you think im SOL)

OK, I did a search on how to reinstall IE6 on WinXP. My problem comes after the installer downloads the files.

I change the registry setting from 1 to 0 that tricks XP into thinking IE was not installed. Then I download the IE6 setup package. Then I run it. It says that a previous install was not completed... blah blah... restart. So I restart. Then it works. It downloads the stuff it needs from the m$ web site, then it begins. Here's where my problem starts. It gives me the "this product has not passed m$ logo testing... this application will not be installed...". OK is the only option. Then I click OK and the progress bar moves to 100% instantly and says that some things have not been installed correctly and that I will have to restart the install to make sure they work.

Well, I restart, and I'm thrown into that same loop. So what can I do to make it not do this without doing a full reinstall.

OR YOU CAN HELP ME WITH MY INITIAL PROBLEM:

I was originally having this problem with Outlook Express 6. I would start OLE6 to get my mail, and then it would lock up. After it checks and downloads all my email, it will unlock and work properly. I installed Outlook XP (although I hate it), and I noticed the same exact problem. Other email programs work fine, but since I grew up on M$ OLE, there's no turning to any other one (they just don't have the feel).

So I hoped that reinstalling IE6 would fix this, since OE6 is part of IE6. But I can't do that either. Apart from a fresh install (which is impossible at this point since my floppy drive is locked away in storage, and I need it for raid array driver installation), what can I possibly do to fix this problem?

I do still have the cd, but repairs have never seemed to help any of my other problems, think it will help here?

PS: I didn't know if this should go in the M$ OS forum or in this forum, so I'm putting it here since its Internet/Browser related...

EDIT:

I uninstalled a certain patch which MS seems to think is the cause of my problems, and am giving it a second try... but now it says that some install files are corrupt and that I should clear my browser cache??? So I'm redownloading it... arg...

EDIT2:

Didn't work.

EDIT3:

Repair didn't work either... as usual...

EDIT4:

YEY! I guess it did work. But Outlook is still hanging. Reinstalling doesn't work. But like I said, I rarely use it so, ehh.. Thanks fresh black coffee :D.
