View Full Version : 2700+ (T-Bred) @ 2.33GHZ, but I want faster! How?

I have the following configuration:
AMD Athlon XP 2700+ 2.17GHZ (T-Bred)
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe (400MHZ) Mobo (Rev 2)
ZALMAN CNPS7000A-CU Silent Copper Heatsink/Fan
Kingston 512MB DDR400 RAM
I currently have my CPU OC'ed to 2.33GHZ, works fine, but it seems to be the max that I can go at this stage.

My Multiplier is set to x 14.0
My System Clock is set to 166 (333mhz).
My Voltage is also slightly increased from the default (although I'm too lazy to reboot to check the exact # that I set it too back when I configured this box)

Anyhow, How would I go about making this thing run faster?

is 3GHZ Possible? would be nice! =)

I'd expect about 2.5GHz from that setup, give or take 50MHz.

Put the core, memory and chipset voltages to the max to begin with.

Reduce the multiplier to 13x, and raise the front side bus from there.

*IMPORTANT*

Please list your cooling setup. You will need to drastically increase the CPUs voltage in order to OC further. Ya know the drill, hot cpu = dead cpu.

If you have a thermalright heatsink / Water cooling etc. It shouldnt be a problem. If you are still using the stock heatsink it WILL!

Be sure to keep you temps down to the low 50s* as a maximum. There is much evidence to suggest that OCed systems over 50c* become very unstable.

get a mobile, guys are getting 2.8GHz outta those things!

try 200X11 w/ 1.700v vcore, 2.8v memory, and you can't change the chipset voltage so don't worry about it

i don't know kingston timings, so leave those be, do run at 100% though

He listed it. Zalman CNPS7000, a very good choice.

Sure, they may be nice, but I don't know why everyone's suddenly bent on scrapping their hardware for 100MHz more at most...

try 200X11
He's got a 2700+, higher multis only.

the ASUS will allow the use of lower multi's

i used to have his setup, unless that's a change between the deluxe and the "E" deluxe

Best up that FSB. Try to get 200mhz out of it.
