ok heres the deal, any help would be greatly appreciated, Ive got a Asus Geforce3 ti200 every few hours the asus smart doctor says the MB is no longer a reliable source for power, the card temp will show at 168c and the voltage flashes from 0 to 4. The system does run fine, I can play video games but the game will pause every other second and the fps counter will show normal fps.
Ive got a 300w psu, I borrowed a 300w psu from work and plugged it in, my system ran fine for 12 hours and I thought it must be the psu because it used to alway fail within 4 hours of running or so but then my wife told me it ended up messing up again while I was at work so it lasted about 20 hours which is better then normal, maybe it was just luck.
With no sides on my case and just having IE open my video card is showing at 50c, the problem seems to be random, actually seems most likely to happen when they system is at idle.
I could test another video card but all I have is a Voodoo3 in the closet, Im assuming that might use a significant amount less power then the G3 does though.
Here's some numbers...
VDDQ 1.47V
AGP BUS V1 3.23
+12v 12.48
+5v 4.945
+3.3v 3.344
those where at idle
WinXP
Powmax 300w psu LP6100-C
Asus AN78NX-D the older model
Athlon XP2100@2700 2.1 something ghz
Asus GeForce3 Ti8200
1 gig Corsair ram
WD800JB primary master
older HP CDRW
30 gig 5400 maxtor
56k modem
weak case fan
