recently my TAXAN ergovision 730 TCO95-S has developed what i can best describe as an up-down twitching on the left hand side that is continuous but the right hand side is fine

i have had the monitor since the days of the pentium2 as it came with the only system i havnt built (must have been 3-4 years ago at least)

or might it be to do with refresh rates or somthing(i personaly dont think this is the case otherwise it would be the whole scrreen)

any advice or suggestions welcome

It could have something to do with refresh rates..But the refresh rate of those pixels maybe. I'd say that it is probably dying, but I would download POWER STRIP, and play around with the settings, and see if you can figure it out.

I have a monitor from the P1 era, and its running stable at 105hz everyday.

Be aware though, with powerstrip you can mess some things up...Remember that holding, I think its Control at startup lets it go back to defaults, if you boot it at startup. It might be shift, I can't remember.

Good Luck.

Make sure you don't have any speakers, other monitors, computers, etc. right next to it. Things like that have a magnetic force that can make it look distorted or flickery.

I think 20 cms should be far enough away. Try moving your TV and monitor further apart and see if the flickering stops before you buy anything. Maybe you already did this so if you did never mind.

iv stuck a sheet of 1mm thick aliminium between them and earthed it to a ground spike (i have for my ham-radio's)
seems to have done the trick
