I'm thinking about buying a 9800 pro card off ebay that's a new OEM stripped from a dell computer. It has the samsung memory which is a plus. are there gonna be any serious downsides because it's OEM or will i not be able to tell a difference?

There are no downsides.... at all, all you need is the card anyways.

How much will you be paying?

There is one downside to this type of OEM...since it is froma Dell computer...you will have to go through Dell to for the warranty (if this still applies)...but the only problem with that is...Dell will not warranty the card if it is not in the original system...

This is different type of OEM...then say like the OEM newegg would sell...

i'd be getting it for about $210 + shipping

All 9800 Pro/XT cards have either Samsung 2.8ns or Hynix 2.8ns RAM. My OEM Sapphire 9800 Pro has the Samsung RAM.

Not all of them...some have the Samsung 3.3ns memory chips...there are a few post with pics of them and the 3.3ns chips...

The majority of the latest ones seem to have the Hynix 2.86ns chips though...

I think this is correct. But the Samsung is better for OC'ing for some odd reason.

They are both 2.8ns though.
