So I'm looking for a good place to buy some pre-tested over-clockable processors. Please don't tell me PCNUT or any other place that sells lame crap. I mean greeze! PCNUT wants more for a Celeron 600 OC'd to 950 than a PIII 1ghz processor sells for! It makes no sense!

So if you happen to know someplace with good prices let me know! Thanks!

then get the 1GHz chip, if ypou can afford it. if you cant the best bet is try and order a good batch of chip.

I don't know about anyone else, but buying a pretested chip kinda takes the magic out of it, don't it?

Oh boy, another debate gets started! Where to buy a pretested CPU?

PCNUT.

Yes, that Celeron 600 costs more money there than other places charge. If price is your only criteria, go somewhere else. If you think that by buying a cheaper "pre-tested" CPU from a different vendor, you'll get the same results , I'll say you're wrong. I'll say that luck of the draw *might* give you the same performance but it isn't as likely to happen.

What are you paying for when you buy from PCNUT? You are buying someone's TIME, some added value in the buying process. You are also buying the cream of the crop of each batch. Chips that are certified to pass a testing procedure that is far harsher than "Does it POST?". Chips that likely have more headroom than the advertised tested speed. In short, you are paying for someone to go through EACH AND EVERY chip on a tray, test them for 24-48 hours on a test loop, and only then deem them worthy to put up for sale.

The ones that don't peform to the standard that PCNUT sets get sold as "not overclockable", even though they probably really are. They just don't meet the level of performance that is required by PCNUT to sell as overclockable.

If you would rather try buying on price, let me ask you: How much is YOUR time worth? How much would you pay someone to test a batch of CPUs for you and pick the best ones out for you to buy? What value do you place on the TIME? If the answer is nothing or not much, buy somewhere else. If the answer is "my time is valuable to me", then give Humphrey a try.

No matter who you buy from, you'll get what you pay for. Before you buy from ANYONE, check their reseller rating first. Good service from a vendor who is committed to the industry, who values his customers, and stands behind his products is worth a little extra from me.

Am I biased? Yep. All day, every day. I am biased towards making informed decisions. I am biased towards buying from reputable companies. My time is valuable to me, and the less time I spend hassling with a vendor over anything, the better. PCNUT is a hassle-free vendor.

No, I don't work for them. No, they are not the only people I buy from. Would I buy from Humphrey again? In a heartbeat. Why? The answer is right here (http://www.resellerratings.com/vendrank.html).

yep, I must say that PCNUT is pricier but you get the quality from it. And if you look in those rankings, PCNut has 200+ responses, not just 15 or 20.

Humphrey delivers. If he says the cpu will do "xxx" , it will and then some. Besides that look @ the top of this page......what do you see? I see a advert' by a guy that thinks enough about our little community to give some back. Helps OC.com...........helps us.
Think about it.
