Well first lets start off by saying I'm a first time builder. I got all of my parts today and started to put my system together (in sig) but when I plug my monitor into my 9800 pro nothing comes on screen. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

do you have a agp lock on your board, if so when you put your card in make sure it clicks if not some boards dont work till the lock has locked(looks like a little white catch on the end of the agp slot)

Yeah, try to press it a little harder but not too hard. If that doesn't work, maybe you have a defective product? I highly doubt that but...
Does everything else turn on?(PSU, fans, etc.)

If not, try to take everything apart and do it again, reading the manual very carefully.

Btw, are you sure everything is compatible? (mobo supports 8x AGP... etc.)

That's all I can think of for right now.

as already said, check all connections (ide/psu...) and your ram, check if it is fitting correct, furthermore it would be helpfull to know if nothing turns on, or just the screen keeps saying nothing?

Perhaps try another PSU, or just another Grafix card, and carefully read the mobo`s guide, cus of jumper settings etc...

did you try another video card? how about clearing the bios? what about taking everything out of your comp but still allowing it to work (ram, cpu, vid card, psu). maybe its not your video card but your ram or cpu?
