View Full Version : Celeron 700@1050..Was I Lucky???
I had a P2350 in an Intel 440-BX. I bought a retail 700 Celeron and an Iwill slocket II and used the Slocket to force the fsb to 100. I set the Vcore to 1.8 and it booted right up at 1045.
Was this a "lucky" overclock?
It's been running fine for a month now.
That's a damn sweet overclock. Surprised your motherboard could do it. Have you tried it higher? give us a bit more info so we can drool :)

Yes to answer your question that was a good o/c
Lucky doesnt sound as good :)
That's great man! I hope ya got good cooling.
I have a Dell, so the only fsb choices I have are 100 or 66. I can't change anything in bios which is why I had to use the Slocket ot force the fsb.
I am using the retail hetsink/fan and have no heat problems.
I first tested for stability by looping 3DMark 2001 for 5.5 hours with no issues.

You actually can change stuff in the bios, on those computers. i just can't remember which "F" key it is to get into the "advanced" part of the bios. I'll check at work Monday. I have it written down somewhere. I never get the chance to play with the pre-made systems that pass through, but we did pull apart an Acer machine just to see what it had inside. I figure it's pretty much the same, Intel chipset right? Nice OC by the way, I'm pretty jealous.

Sounds like the real deal, but you aren't lucky -- you got a great chip and did the right things to OC it. Congrats.
