I want to overclock my dual P3 866's to 1GHz. So that would mean having the FSB at 155MHz. Would this be good for my RAM and other commponents? Thanks.

Your probably going to need good quality ram for sure.
If its stable then your parts should be fine.

Welcome to the boards! It'll depend on the quality of your ram. If it's CL2 PC133 it's prolly not gonna be a problem, if it's CL3 PC133 it might be. It's also possible that you may need to raise your 'Input-Output Voltage' slightly to get there, but I wouldn't go above 3.6V. Good luck, and let us know the results!

I'm not sure what type of ram I have except it's 256MB of SDRAM PC133. I was hoping that someone could tell me any info on it. I have a pic of a chip to help you out.

And here it is

Looks like it's 7.5ns, so that would be CL3. Make sure your RAM timings are at CL3 in your BIOS setup when you try to up the FSB. Just try it, and see what happens. You can't fry your RAM or anything! It'll just lock up or give you protection errors during bootup when it can't handle 155.

Unless you have a setting in BIOS letting you run at minus clock speed then you probably are not going to make it as your running 133 way out of specs. also you can try cas 3 and if you make it thats great then try cas 2 and see if its still stable if it works you'll have better bandwidth, i have cas 3 and i'm running at cas 2 to make up for lost bandwidth due to running at minus clock speed.
goodluck

I do have a setting on my BIOS where I can get the RAM to run at the FSB speed minus the PCI bus speed. That would make it about 115 or somewhere in that range. So once my system is built and running I'll try those different CAS settings. Thanks

I have a setting like that if I set it to under clock would that also lower my PCI?
