Do any celeron's run at 100 FSB, if so, which ones? I've given up on overclocking my 566, coz it just won't...
Also how much performance increase do u think there would be for the upgrade...?
Thx

The Cel. 2 800MHz runs at 100FSB.

Check the CPU database and see what others have done with your CPU, if your having trouble with this CPU you may have trouble with others but without more info that is just a guess.

Hey Will what are you waiting for? Worried about heat with the retail hsf or something?
Good luck thou

Celeron 800, 850 and 900 all have a 100Mhz FSB. Mine's a cCO, but they have all become available as cDO's. The 900's are all cDO's so I'm very anxious to hear about their OCing capabilities! Intel wil be releasing a Celeron 950 and 1Ghz near the end of the year.

Just about any Celeron at 633 or below runs at 100 FSB, unless you get an unusually weak chip. My 633 will run all day at 950 or 960 (depending on what voltage my board will let it run on that day). I've seen plenty of 600s at 900, 566es at 850, etc, and it usually takes only a moderate boost in voltage to do so (mine, for example usually only needs 1.7 to 1.75, as opposed to the 1.65 default), and as an extra bonus create very little heat in the process. Otherwise, everyone else is right - Celly 800-900s run at 100FSB by default.
Now for a ? of my own - does anyone know how well the 800s and higher clock? Is there still the 1.0-1.1 GHz brick wall for the most part?
Could be that you just got a LAME chip. My C566 runs at a 120mhz fsb 100% stable at 1.9volts with a Alpha Pal 6035. I am sure they will not all do this as the chip I have is sweet! I have messed with several others and all have hit 850mhz on a 100 fsb with ease.

Well, I tried to overclock my 566 to 850, and it wont do it... I managed a overclock of like 85 fsb max...
But i can't even find in the bios what voltage it is running at, or where i can turn the voltage up... where is it usually?
One more thing, when i had it at 850, it *usually* crashed in the same spot, on the some games... for example 3dmark2001, but ran fine on 3dmark2000... and basically general unstability after awhile
If you are not giving the voltage a bump then that is your problem. There may be an auto setting in bios that tou have to change to "user define" in order to see the options. It also could be either switches or jumpers on the mobo to set it. You will have to look in the manual for your mobo to determine the procedure. If the manual is not available most companies have online downloadable versions.
in addition to voltage make sure your agp settings are at 2/3 rather than 1/1...if it boots windows at 850 you can get it going with a little tweaking...and if you cant adjust the voltage on your board there is always the pin wrapping trick...but you have to be careful
