1 or more?

Like the title says... I'm trying to use a RAID IDE array on a promise fasttrak tx2 as storage and a sata raptor is running XPee.

Drivers installed for fasttrak, listed in scsi/raid controllers in device manager - no drives listed under disk drives in device manager.

I'm wondering if you can only use one add-in card at a time? It seems to be that you can only use whichever card is in the highest PCI slot.

Hmph. I thought this was such a freebie it would get a quick answer.

For some reason the word "Four" pops out at this point, but that might include on-board controllers too. It could depends a lot on the OS.

Thanks for the response Cj. I never realized how slow moving the storage forum was... I was starting to wonder if I would get any answer on this at all.

All I need to know is if you can use more than one add-in controller in your pci slots? Or if only one can be used.

If more than one can be used, then I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Right now I have a single raptor running on a sata pci card in PCI slot 2.

I have all my data storage (pron, stolen government secrets, a backed up copy of the perpetrators of the kennedy assassination) on a promise controller in PCI slot 5.

The raptor has windows on it and is working fine. The promise controller can be seen in device manager but the disk drive on it cannot.
