Hi all u OCers,

I am interested in this Overclocking lark'
Would it be possible for me to speed up my Pentium 2 300 Mhz Proccesor on my Intel 440LX Motherboard?

I've had a good look at my Board and have downloaded the manual to get a better understanding but it doesnt have a detailed explanation of Jumpers etc...(that is all i have to change right?)

As i said i am new to overclocking,i find it interesting and a challenge, so far i Understand that changing a Jumper (which one i dont know) on my main board will increase the speed of my proccessor.
I understand it has to be alot more complicated that that, so any help would be greatly appreciated, and what i learn, i will share.

Thanx...

Storm

P.S. I have my case off and a rather large fan blowing into my machine, as i am overclocking my Voodoo 2 which was fairly simple. :-)

The best thing for you to do is to take a look at the Overclocking FAQ on the home page. It will have all the basic info that you need. Any other questions you can be fielded here.

Not going to be able OC much on My MB!
But does that still mean it is possible? and if so to what extent?
and is it a case of identifying jumpers and changing them accordingly?

thanks for your help...!

At the most on a LX chipset motherboard you'll only have 66, 75, and 83 MHz FSB speed settings. On some motherboards you only have one setting, the default 66 MHz. Sometimes the settings are changed with jumpers or in rare cases with dip switches. On overclocker friendly mobos the settings are changed in the BIOS. You need to tell us what brand and model board you have. At the 75 FSB setting, it would run at 338 MHz and at the most with the 83 FSB (assuming you have that setting) you could hit 374, but you'll probably need good cooling to reach that high.
