View Full Version : My friend can run 3dmark03 but 3dmark01 says he needs dX8 or better?

Need some advice I am preaty sure there is a patch for this, I just couldn't find it, thanks for the help :)

Its a common error. It happened alot to me. All you gotta do it keep uninstall /re-installing it until it takes hold.
It took 3-4 time for it to work right for me.

thats wierd....uninstall reinstall DirectX drivers or 3dmark?..thanks agin :D

My bad not DirectX but 3dmark itself. ur DX drivers are fine. Its just a common error with 3dmark01.
If you install the proggie b4 you add DX9 you wont ever get that error. If you do it after it takes a couple rounds to get it right.

i get that prob too all i did to fix it was install dx8.1 and it works, and your system still keeps dx9 as the main dx so 3dmark 03 will still work and dx9 games. its like dx8.1 is a missing link and install it to fill it

I think they release a patch or update for that, try d/l-ing the latest 3dmark. I had that problem too.

You nee the patch...
these guys who are saying "just reinstall it" also installed the patch and don't remember doing so...
it will NEVER work until you install the patch...

After installing Direct X 9 and 3D Mark 03, this patch allowed me to run 2001 again.

I had a older version of the 330 that did the same thing...I just went and downloaded a fresh copy of 01 and it installed and runs using DX9 now...
