It's pretty easy to stay up to date on the Pentium III/Pentium IV news. Tualatin this and Northwood that and all that good stuff. However, I have heard next to nothing on what the next generation of Celeron CPUs will be derived from, or if they are even going to exist. And if they get phased out, what will supplant them? If anyone has heard any news or seen any posts, this information would be greatly appreciated.

I only know there will be a 1Ghz cDO Celeron at the end of the year. And if they would start selling rejected Tualatins as Celerons (like they do now with P3's) with half the cache disabled and made less associative, these will prolly perform like the current coppermine Pentium 3's. But we can only guess about that right now. It'll probably all depend on how soon Intel can get any good 0.13micron production capacity...

It's now confirmed (see the article linked on the front page) that the Celeron 1Ghz and higher will be Tualatins! Intel will drop the P3 Tualatin very soon, and the 0.13micron "Celeron-T" will be their (prolly very good scaled) answer to AMD and Cyrix...

Very nice - 1.0 and 1.1 GHz Celerons on 100 FSB. Ought to be fun! Wonder if they'll have as little headroom as the current 1.0 PIIIs. I hope not - I want a 1333 Celeron! Thanks Lance! I wasn't sharp enough to catch the links on front page - I barely load the home page before I jump off to the Forums!
