how much system ram do you have?

I THINK what I read awhile back is to set it to 128mb if you have 512mb of ram.

From what I've seen 128 or 256 works best for most people.

It's system dependant from what I've observed so your only true way of finding out is by changing it and benchmarking in each mode.

What exactly does it tell the system to do? Manually designate the ram size on the AGP card?

AGP aperture size is the amount of system RAM the video card will be allowed to use, so the setting is all about how much system and video RAM you have. The basic rule of thumb, if I remember right, is to set it at double your video ram amount, as long as you have enough system RAM for it. So, try it out, go for 128mb and then 256mb and see which one works better for you.
