View Full Version : Which budget RAM for a 2.6C to run OK @ 3.2? Abit IS7 mobo
Got a P4 2.6C and I plan to run it at 3.2Ghz. [ It has been tested before on another system, ran well, its the malaysian batch L338.
I am getting an abit IS7.
Now the big questions is: Which RAM should i get if i am on a budget?
Thank you!

At least 2x256MB PC3200 and run it at 5:4 ratio. I like Kingston HyperX or Value Ram.
Thanks for the reply!
So the Kingston ValueRam would be ok?
I have access to these :
KVR400X64C3/512 - PC3200 512MB DDR 400MHz Clock 3
KVR400X64C3A/512 PC3200 512MB DDR 400MHz CAS 3-3-3
I am looking to buy 2 x 512mb.
Cheers!

You can use about ANY PC3200 with a 2.6C with a 5:4 ratio, since that equals a 200fsb to the memory.
I would recommend getting a dual channel kit versus two dimms bought separately..
kingston is good
might look at Mushkin's blue line
