View Full Version : 566@11?? How much voltage is too much?
I'm stable enough at 1030 right now on my 566 celery using a 156Watt peltier/coppler coldplate with a dangerden maze using a fishtank as a resivoire to make this post. Anyway I'm at 1.75volts and have tryed to push it past 1100 with 1.85volts but it will go black at my desktop. Should I risk pushing it past 1.9volts? Hmmmmm
I'm gonna try after this game of Counterstrike and if someone can stop me from expirience within an hour or 3 I may reconsider.
I'll post my results in a bit.

1.9v should be fine as long as your temps stay in check.
2.0+ is usually considered the danger zone.
I just wanted to add ------------- My PC health status
I've felt my chip and its ICEY COLD and in my bios its says its 165F+
So you cant really trust what it says in your bios temp--- I guess I should get a independant thermometer. A?
Well folks it looks to me like 1030 is about all she is gonna do and thats fine with me. 1105 seems to still lock up on a black screen before the desktop and everything inbetween seems to freeze up too fast. During my CS experiance@1030 its been smooth sailing and last atleast a few hours at a time. As far as voltage goes I find it really doesn't matter and I feel its happyest at default or 1.75. My cooling rig is soo cold that my temp guage is eather NA or it thinks its overheating. Actually I have had to disable the alarm and temp shutdown protection just to boot up. For those few that made it past where I have they just must have more stable chips and different components that bear better results. the best in the database it 1251 and thats more than double the original speed. Mine is about a month old.
I bought a C2 566 back when they first came out. After having it for a couple of months I got it up to 1020 with 1.9 volts. Been running at either 970 or 1020 (1020 except for in hot weather) ever since with no problem. Cooling is done by a Hedgehog/Delta38.
I am tempted to freeze this thing and see what it's got since it's just a spare machine.
