Let's say the bios only support the cA2 stepping, is it possible to use a cB0 or newer steppings without a bios update?

ive never heard of a bios only suporting a certain stepping, where does it say that, because remember intel doesnt really care about stepping, and neither should the motherboard, as long as the motherboard supports the type of cpu, you should be fine

Yea I know what you are saying slake. My dad bought one of those everex boards off tv after I told him it wasn't a good idea. So he got it and started haveing problems with their setup. It had one of those Esafe programs on it which kept a picutre of the way the disk use to be before you installed anything else. Well he called them and this is what they told him. "Sir you can't remover anything we put on your computer if you do you break you warrenty and if someone has to come out and do work on it are techs only know how to work on systems the way WE set it up." I told him right then. "Dad I told you not to buy from them but did you listen to me? NO!"
