Brand new cpu, not working?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to make sure this is indeed faulty and i'm not jnust doing something wrong

got a tbred ("A" unfortunately) today from excaliberpc.com. since its the A type i want to sell it, but i wanted to test it first. so i hooked it into my NF7-S mobo (which currently has my palomino 2100) and tried to power it up.... the power stays on foir about a half a second... then it cuts out. every time. i put the palomino back in, no problems.

Is this CPU an RMA job or is there something i'm doing wrong? theres no burn marks on it, HSF was properly attached etc...

Have you tried clearing the Cmos when puting the new CPU in

i'm going to try it on my other motherboard soon, just to make sure

if it dont work there then its probly good to say its DOA, is it a OEM ive got a few OEM's from my local store that where DOA.
