Eh, I'm getting tired of the XChode messing around with cool PC games (and compeltely fuxoring them over in the case of Dues Ex 2).

Im still recovering from the fact that Doom III is being released for the xbox.

it doesn't bother me so much that its being released on the Xbox.. i mean ID *is* a company - and they want, and have every right to try and maximize profits...

but Doom was *born* on the PC.. PC users made that game what it became - why give us the shaft and only include COOP on a freaking console but not the PC?? it doesn't make sense to me...

Yay for me... my PC probably wont play it too good, so Ill be FORCED to enjoy it on a 32" TV with good FPS, maybe even a 54" plasma HDTV if it supported. Too bad...

Its because Nvidia won the rights to Doom3. Nvida makes the grafix for the Xbox. Odds are it will be exclusive.

I HOPE Doom3 is being fully developed for the PC, then being fully developed to Xbox, and NOT Visa versa, or at the same time. Look at Deus Ex 2 :(. As for COOP for PC, I wouldn't worry aobut it, being included or not. I'm sure some modders will make a coop mod, like for half-life and such.

id need money to finances Ferrari adictions... this is the only logical explaination.

Wait.. So Nvidia OWNS the rights to Doom 3?

Yes, Doom3 is a PC game that will be ported to Xbox and not the other way around

Wait.. So Nvidia OWNS the rights to Doom 3?

This is considerable information and rumors that Nvidia will box Doom3 retail with its NV4xx grafix cards to combat ATi's HL2.

So the anwser is most likely yes, Nvidia bought the rights to Doom3.

Nvidia's website is full of Doom3 propaganda ATM, just like ATi's HL2 stuff.

This is a same, So few games include coop story mode, its a good break during a lan party, take for instance serious sam, The lan group i hang out with can play the campaing in a night, and it never gets old. The last lan we resorted to playing Quake 2 coop. Its the same story as Halo pc...one day maybe developers will realize that gamers on the PC in fact want coop.

Actually it isn't being "ported". They are basically building it from the ground up for the xbox. Check out the new gamepro if you can.

Thank God! I had a terrifying thought that they'd do something like they did with DX2.

That sucks, there's nothing funner that sucking down a few  and kicking Diablo's ash with a buddy. Co-op on LAN is the only way for some of us dial up guys to truely enjoy some of these games that you dsl or cable guys get to enjoy. That is one of the reasons that I did buy an Xbox last year was to see what all the rave was about with Halo and Co-Op. I ended up giving the Xbox to the kids for Xmas, but still..... why do the guys with the low end computer (Xbox) and a tv get to have all the fun? I guess that it probably has something to do with the fact that it is probably much easier to code for one machine to do co-op than it is for our mostly unique boxes that "we" the hobbiest build. It still sucks though. :(

I don't see what the big deal is. Was co-op mode ever planed for the PC? Sure it would be sweet as hell to play co-op Doom 3 on PC, but at least it's going to be possible one way or another.

Well what is the co-op mode even going to be like? If it's like it is in Perfect Dark for N64 then it's not that big of a deal.

I really wanted a co-op in Perfect Dark where the actions of player 1 and player 2 have to be such that you can't do it without two people instead of just putting two people in the same single player missions...

you'll also be forced to enjoy it with a controller and not a mouse/keyboard. I hope you're "all thumbs..."

I've got a 42" HDTV but I'd NEVER play an FPS on it unless it's my PC that's hooked up to it.

the big deal is alot of people want coop modes in their PC games, but only a handful of game developers actually seem to understand this...

First of all, the controller isnt always a bad thing, it was done perfectly on Halo and many other games (Rainbow Six 3 and Uc come to mind). If they are developing it seperatley, it probably will have nice controls and feel good with a controller since it wont just be a port.

I kind of like using the controllers with FPS on consoles, even if the aim isnt as perfect as I would like ... Long as there is deathmatch on the PC, Ill be all set.

Co-op is a pretty cool thing to be able to do on a LAN. That was one of the reasons that I loved the buggy game Hidden&Dangerous. Its just pretty cool to be able to succeed in your goals with a buddy.
