I recently got a 9800pro refurbed from newegg (I know, but the price couldnt be beat :-P) and I stressed it with numerous tests at stock speeds and it ran fine. Until I wiped the stock cat drivers and installed omega drivers. I got artifacting under ut2k4 after a while with the omegas, and heavy artifacting in atitool. Problem is, now I can't get it to go away without bumping the core down to 360, even after switching back to regular cats. Is there a chance my card just crapped out, or did the omegas actually mess something up in windows?

I have the exact same problem. Used atitool last night with 4.3's, 403mhz stable on core, stock cooling. Now, this morning, with the addition of a VGA silencer on it, and Omega 4.2's, I have MAJOR artifacting in atitool. 360 or lower is where is stabilizes???(I haven't run it below 360) This is the first time with omega drivers, and the VGA silencer, but the silencer says it lowered my temps a bit. Have a digidoc reading temps
Anyone know anything about the artifacting with omega's?

bump, nothing????
Please read IMOG's post in this thread http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=280746
I think it explains why you are getting artifacts. I don't think it is an Omega problem. I get above 440 core speeds with a VGA Silencer and AS Ceramique but NO shim.
