Is it worth it for me to shell out 160 bucks for a p3 933 when I have a cel2 running at 876Mhz or should I just wait for the price to drop. How much performance gain would I even get?

well the standard had been a celey(the 66mhz variety) were 200mhz slower than a p3(i assume 100mhz). Do the math. I don't know about a celey2 at 100mhz though.

There is a good differance in speed between a C2 and a P3. If you want to get another cpu why not get a cheaper P3? A 700e would do quite nice and be a good oc'r.

Because the PIII's L2 cache size and set-associativity is double the Celeron II's there is a significant difference in performance between the two of them even when identically clocked. Here's a good review for comparison of a PIII 1GHz and a Celeron 800 overclocked to 1072. It might help you decide if it's worth the $160. http://firingsquad.gamers.com/hardware/budgetoc/page3.asp

Hope this is helpful.

actually i've been tempted to buy a t-bird lately...if i had $160 to spend...i think i would buy a 1.2Ghz T-bird and a spend a few bucks more and buy a good board....you should be able to switch boards with your setup relatively easy
