I am looking at overclocking my system for the first time. I have a 2500+ Barton pre-week 39(bought the system in May 03). My question has more to do with the RAM and adjusting my FSB.

I currently have 1 Gig of 2700 RAM on a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP MB. Since the RAM is rated at 333 Mhz, how much adjustment on the FSB would be considered extreme and unsafe?

extreme and unsafe when its not stable. figure out how high both the ram and cpu fsb can go. most likely the ram will hold u back.

You may be able to hit 200FSB, but that might be pushing the ram a bit. Some PC2700 has been able to do past PC3200 speeds, but those are far and few between. I would say to get some good PC3500 with tight timings if you are looking to get new ram.
