hello forum members
i'm really new here and i need some help from you guys :-]

my system:
board:VBE-A 1206A - Biostar (VIA-BOARD)
cpu: PIII733@770mhz(slot1)
video: elsa gladiac gts (32mb)
disk: maxtor 92041U4
memory: siemens

now my little problem, i OC my pc @770 and want to go higher but if i want to, the system crashs and nothing more happens. the multiplier works at 5.5 and the system clock at 140mhz and the system bus the same. i don't know if i had to move up the vcore?!? and where to do this ?!? i can't see it in the bios menu or something else (i got the latest update). is there a software who can change this ?? i hope someone can help me
thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english

I think Your first step would be to get some kind of temperature reading for you cpu. Temperature plays a huge role in how far you can over clock. Look in your bios for a temperature reading, you can also try downloading motherboard monitor. this program is good for reading CPU temperatures. Find your CPU temp and post it here, then we can give more advice form there.

You shouldn't have to up the voltage to break 770. I think something else is holding you up.

What kind of memory do you have?
What kind of heatsink do you have?
What are your average temps?
What pieces of hardware do you have in your AGP/PCI/ISA slots?

Welcome G_M,
First of all what are your temps @733 & 770Mhz?
try MotherBoard Monitor that you found at http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

about your Mobo, I've looked the Biostar web site, but I haven't fount that code?! Probably you wanna say M6VBE-A??
If right, it seems to be not increaseable, coz the Bios automatically detected Vcore, +3.3v, +/- 5.5v and +/-12v, like you can see on page 2-18 of the user's manual.

I hope it helps you :-(

do you have the EB or E version? (133 or 100 FSB)

Endeavor,
note that a Cpu 733Mhz can have only a Fsb of 133Mhz with a multip 5.5x, and then must be an EB version, coz if 100Fsb what's the multiplier?? 7.33x?!!!

Don't worry, sometimes can happen :-))
