Can I run the new P3 1.1GHz (100fsb, 11x multiplier) @ 1.4GHz 2x 133fsb on my ABIT SA6R (2x-12x multiplier). Thnx for any ideas.

Yes, that should work fine.

I wasn't sure the 1.1 existed, but there it is on intel's site.

I also breezed through the motherboard manual, and it looks like it will support that chip (see motherboard specs here (http://ftp2.abit.com.tw/download/manual/english/sa6r.pdf)).

***Note--Getting 1.4 out of any P3 would be a miracle of liquid nitrogen or freakish luck... the highest Asian techs were able to get the much improved Tulatin was 1.44GHZ, so don't expect to go too high with that chip. My cpu runs very stable at default voltage at 1.1ghz, so you're only getting a variation of the cD0 P3 1.0E ghz chip I have.

Doubt it a whole lot. If the guys fooling with LN2 aren't getting past 1.44 then 1.4 isn't going to happen.

The asian site I looked at got the tualatins to 2.0ghz.

But yes the 1.1 p3 100fsb cpu would be lucky to go 1250mhz with air cooling.

Dude go to www.tomshardware.com. They got a early tualatin to 1.4 on air cooling.
