Go for it. It sells for $92 on PriceWatch.com. If it's an online vendor, be sure to check resellerratings.com to see if it's legitimite

While the cC0's might be a bit better, I've seen a lot of posts with people getting the cB0's close to or past 1GHz.

Mine is a cB0, FC-PGA chip. It's running 933 right now, but I've had it higher (see sig) on a BX board (my regular rig has an Asus with the i820 Camino chipset).

However, I went to ww.ups.com this morning and checked the tracking number, and my new BE6 II Rev. 2 is on a truck headed here from two towns over where the local dist. center is, and will be here today. =) Soooo tempting to call in sick...lol

If you really need money, offer to get them for other people who are Fry's-challenged. (I live in New Jersey - never even heard of Fry's, and we just got a Best Buy last year)

I'd give you cost+sales tax+shipping+$10 for two of them to upgrade my dualie rig. And steppings is important too, just take a little look-see through their inventory. (email me if interested)

If it's cA2, it's probably not worth getting as it would if it were cB0 or cC0.

Had to respond here Brian... cause I DID call in sick today... LOL...

Anyway, I have heard the cC0's do better, but my Slot 1 cB0 (650) cranks... I can hit 155 FSB on Via board & all runs fine, but I see Prime95 errors... 150 is fine, So I usually run @ 146 or 7.... STABILITY, I crave it...

BTW, I use an ALPHA P3125s with 2 low noise Sunons @ 22CFM...

Endeavor... even if it is a cB0, I'll bet you'll be happy with that chip for $50...

Good Luck!!!

Kris

To reinforce a classic jersey stereotype:
Exit 36A off 287

Haha, I'm exit 5. You go to the market pro shows at the Hilton on rt 10?

to clarify, frys is a computer superstore
if you have a computer and need a part, chances are they have it
sometimes dirt cheap, other times you can pay upto $100 extra

I saw something on www.frys.com about them having a telephone order system. Are the prices there more or less constant, or do they change every day? Think there is any way I can get in on this from across the country?

To Blue Jester: I never knew there were any computer shows in that Hilton. I'm maybe 35-40 min away from there (East Hanover), so lemme know when the next one will be, I want to check it out.

For anyone in the boston/cambridge area: Look for info on Swapfest (usually one sunday a month, 9am-2pm or so), has to be one of the best computer/electronics/cool stuff flea markets anywhere. It is a pure buyers market (new P3B-F for $10 - 'nuff said)

yah the prices are pretty constant

Check out www.marketpro.com for show dates and locations. They're usually there every other month. They do a show at the end of every month at the meadowlands and one in the beginning of every month at the garden state expo center.
I'd think the one on RT 10 might be even closer for you than 35-45 mins, I get there in that long. Just take exit 39 on 287 and bear left onto 10, it's about 1/2 mile down from the exit. =]

Endeavor: Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call. In case other people haven't stressed it enough, $50 for a PIII-700 is an incredible deal - do anything and everything (within legal and moral limits of course) to scrap up the money for it. Worst comes to worst, you could probably make some money by ebaying it or something.

Blue Jester: Thanks for the link. They don't have any info on the page right now, but i'm sure they'll update it when another show comes around. It probably would take me 35 min or so, cause I drive slower than your grandma (no offense - I don't personally know your grandmother or her driving habits) And I actually live closer to rt 10 than 287 (About 35 or so minutes east of that hilton, rt 10 has a Best Buy, a Costco, a movie theater, and every other commercial enterprise known to man - that little strip of dense shopping plazas is my town)

lol, that's kool. We just got our best buy in union down rt 22 (our over-poplated shopping arena). We also got one on rt 1 near menlo, that's a good 1/2 hr drive for me though. They got some killer deals this week, KLH 250 watt 3-way speakers with 12" woofer for $50 each! KLH ain't that great but for $50 i'm considerin picking up a pair and a cheap reciever in clearence for my puter. Currently it's hooked through my home theater, but i'd rather free that up on its own.

Oh yeah....this is a p3 thread ain't it =]

Mr B what hsf are you using with the slot 1?

Alpha P3125, with twin 60x60x25mm YS Tech 27cfm fans. I've never hit 40c with this hsf installed. I can only imagine how much cooler a pair of Delta 38's would be...if you could stay in the same room long enough to find out.. ???
