i just got a dell, p3 933, and wanted to overclock it. of cource, These mass market chodes seem to deliberately take out all of the possibilities so that the idiots of the world cant do anything stupid to their pc's. unfortunately, this also screws up the rest of the (more tech savvy) pc buying audience, who is left with a computer that is clocked at 933mhz, and can't do sh@ about it.
what my question was is this: are there any BIOS upgrades or anything at all (other than a new motherboard) that i can do to overclock my pc? id have to check my bios to see what kind of motherhboard i have, but i am sure that it does not support a changeable (for lack of a better description) FSB and cpu clock. i have already overclocked my video card.
sorry i cant help you with that, but i know what you mean my old packard bell has the jumper prongs need to over clovk to 200mhz removed those ********.
but a note for the future dont buy a computer from any major company. i got mine special made 7 months ago from vision a small norcross (next to atlanta) based company. P3 800mhz 256 pc133 ram voodoo3 3000 17 in veiwable screen low radiation (very useful for computer junkies) cdrw $1000.

Changing you MoBo could help too. Or you could try Soft FSB or CPUFSB to get abit higher, not very much though :(

You're not overclocking that Dell. Period. The FSB programs don't work. You're not going to change that motherboard either.
But why are they choads for taking the overclocking options out of their machines, hence keeping their losses to a minimum on overclocking related damages?
You shouldn't have bought a Dell. You should have bought a real system.

yep I bought a Dell 18 months ago and tried overclocking, the only thing that's original in my system now is the monitor, shhhhh don't tell Dell because I'm still paying for it, mobo fittings are not standard, trying to work out the light connections on the mobo is impossible. so a change of case is needed if changing mobo. Power supply connections also seem Dell's own as well
next time I'll build my own,

WELCOME TO THE FORUM
sorry but these guys are rite even if the software programs worked at best you would only get a mild overclocked, about the best upgrade for now would be to add a little more memory since prices are down. If you ever get something overclockable we would be glad to help you get the most out of your new PC.
