Which cooler?

I want to get a new cooler, but quite frankly, I'm a bit dubious about the water coolers.
A make of cooler was mentioned that isn't water cooling, they sell for about £300, apparently, the only problem is that I can't remember the manufacturer.
What coolers do you guys recommend and what temp do they run at?

Air Cooling: Thermalright SP97 (aprox 50.00USD) (aprox 10-20c* above ambiant temp, however it depends upon noise preference)

Water: D-tek, DangerDen, Swiftech (aprox 200-250.00USD) (within +-5c* of ambiant)

Extreme: Asetek Vapochill, Prometia (arpox 600-900.00USD) (well below ambiant, aprox -30 to -50c*)

Allegedly they're about £300 here, but I'm checking that out right now

why is there such a huge price difference? I would have gone that route instead of water if I could have gotten it for that price!!!
