I had one he11 of a time installing windows XP.

Since the ocforums have been so kind to me I wanted to pass on what I've learned on my quest...

1.) Install at stock speeds and if you have trouble copying the installation files off your CD-Rom to your HD, try another CD-Rom!

2.) If you have a western digital HD, use "Data Lifeguard Tools"!!

3.) If you have a new Serial HD, take out all "un-necessary" hardware, especially IDE HD's!!!

4.) If you have a Serial HD, make sure you hit F6 right when the XP setup begins to load the correct driver.

5.) Try another install CD.

6.) Make sure you have the boot order is correct!

7.) Last but not least, never give up! Reformat and reinstall, it is possible!(On SATA HD that is!)
